Reserve team manager Rob Thomsett (pictured) has organised a fundraising evening of football to raise money for Diabetes UK.
The game is between Friends and Family of Peacehaven & Telscombe FC V Lilly X1.
Rob Thomsett writes:
Peacehaven & Telscombe FC are hosting a fantastic charity football game to help raise money for Diabetes UK.
My god daughter Lilly suffers from Type One diabetes, and during the time since being diagnosed has had various issues along the way.
The illness has prevented her from enjoying the things children enjoy doing and I want to use the power of football to once more help raise vital money for a great cause.
Last year we raised a fantastic amount for Diabetes UK and the smile on Lilly’s face was back, but hard work doesn’t stop.
Diabetes UK is a charity that doesn’t always get the support they need and that’s where we come in.
I have challenged Lilly’s step father to raise a football team who are close to Lilly or have played a part in her life, to play a game for charity against a team of players from the friends and family of Peacehaven & Telscombe FC.
Entry will be free and donation buckets will be there for people to donate if they wish to do so. There will be a fantastic raffle on the evening with prizes donated from local businesses, and this too will help to make a huge difference.
The winners of the game will receive a special trophy in honour of the late Bill Parris – a stalwart of Peacehaven & Telscombe FC.
The Bill Parris Memorial Trophy will then become an annual charity football match which will help people remember the man that did so much for grass roots football at Peacehaven & Telscombe FC, as well and helping to raise money for a fantastic cause too.
On Friday evening there will also be a series of youth games which will take centre stage prior to the main event as Ace Academy challenge Peacehaven & Telscombe under 7s, 8s and under 9s.
Gate opens at 6.30pm.
