Haven at home on Saturday

8 months ago By Pitchside View

PEACEHAVEN & TELSCOMBE play their penultimate home game of the season on Saturday.

Bottom club Hailsham, who have had a torrid time this season are the visitors to the Unibet Arena on Saturday.

However, underestimate them at your peril. The last three games have seen a resurgence in The Stringers’ form and fortune. At the beginning of April they beat a strong Littlehampton side 2-1 and then followed that up with a more than credible draw against Broadbridge Heath, and that was after being 2-0 ahead.

On Tuesday evening they made the long trip to Arundel and played 85 minutes of the game with just ten men after their goalkeeper was sent off for handling the ball outside of the box. Although Arundel won their game in hand 1-0, Hailsham gave a spirited and dogged performance.

Meanwhile Peacehaven & Telscombe are unbeaten in their last three games and have Josh Marshall to thank for rescuing a deserved point at Lancing last Saturday with a well taken hat trick. Peacehaven are now in 14th position in the league with 38 points from 34 games played.

In the reverse fixture on October 22, Haven beat Hailsham 4-0 – their first league win of the season, with goals from Curt Ford (2), Marcus Allen and Vitor Pestana.

Saturday’s action starts at 3pm. Entry is £6 for adults, £4 for over 65s and under 18s get in for free.

From everyone at Peacehaven & Telscombe Community Football Club, happy Easter to you and your family and friends.
