Haven at home on Saturday

By Pitchside View

ON SATURDAY Peacehaven & Telscombe take on and Crawley Down Gatwick to the honour former chairman of both clubs, Brian Suckling.

Brian passed away in January 2016 and since July 2016, a special game between Peacehaven and Crawley Down has taken place annually to remember Brian. This season it's Peacehaven's turn to stage the game which will take place on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.

Brian had been chairman of Peacehaven & Telscombe for just over 12 months when he passed away. During his brief stay with the club his tireless work and upbeat and positive take on life endeared him to everyone he came into contact with.

Prior to coming to Peacehaven, Brian had been involved with his local side Crawley Down Gatwick for around 15 years.

The game between the two teams will be played for the Brian Suckling Cup which has been kindly donated by his friend and former Peacehaven & Telscombe FC committee member, Bob Rashbrook.

Mr Suckling’s widow Jane will be at the game and will present the cup at the end.

The game kicks-off at 3pm and entry is by donation. Entry proceeds and proceeds from the Golden Goal competition will go to a charity nominated by Jane Suckling.
