Haven at home to City on Saturday

By Pitchside View

PEACEHAVEN & TELSCOMBE are in home league action on Saturday for the only time in February.

The visitors are top of the table Chichester City who this season have set their sights firmly on gaining promotion. They have 63 points from 26 games and lead the table from second place Newhaven by five points.

Meanwhile Peacehaven are in eleventh place with 36 points from 25 games.

When the two sides met in early September Peacehaven went down 6-1 so Mark Shutt’s men will be looking to put that right on Saturday.

Last season City finished their campaign one place above Peacehaven in sixth place with 68 points, the same number of points as Peacehaven, after they had looked like promotion contenders until the final few weeks of the season.

When the two sides met at The Sports Park last season Peacehaven won that encounter 1-0 with a wonder strike from Fraser Massen (pictured).

The game kicks-off at 3pm. Entry is £6 for adults, £4 for over 65s and under 18s get in for free. The club’s brilliant programme is just £1 and you can win cash prizes with Golden Goal.

Because of the adverse weather that is expected in our area on Friday and Saturday, make sure you check the club’s website before setting out in case the game is called off.
