The best way to keep up to date with Peacehaven & Telscombe FC

Haven away on Saturday

9 months ago By Pitchside View

PEACEHAVEN & TELSCOMBE make the trip to Worthing United on Saturday for an SCPL game.

After an impressive start to this season's campaign, Peacehaven find themselves in third place in the league after they slipped from top spot on Saturday after their 1-1 draw with Eastbourne Town.

They are also unbeaten in their last seven league games, winning six and drawing once.

Meanwhile, Worthing United are going through a difficult period having lost seven of their games in September with just one win, against Pagham when the Mavericks recorded an impressive 2-1 victory.

In their latest game on Tuesday, they bowed out of the Sussex Senior Cup 4-1 at home to near neighbours Lancing after taking the lead early on.

Haven’s manager Mark Shutt is fully aware of playing against a side who have nothing to lose and all to prove, and knows that a number of this season’s results in the league have seen upsets. And given the spirit that United’s U21 side showed against Peacehaven U21s on Monday, it will almost certainly be a difficult afternoon for Peacehaven.

Peacehaven will also have to be on the lookout for United's top scorer Jahobi Maher who has bagged five league goals already this campaign and is also the league's eigth highest scorer.

If you’re planning to go to Saturday’s game which kicks-off at 3pm, here are the details:

Worthing United FC, The Robert Albon Memorial Ground, Lyons Way, Worthing, BN14 9FL, tel: 01903 234466.

Peacehaven are next at home on Tuesday evening, October 10 when Hassocks are the visitors. The game kicks-off at 7.45pm.
