A scrambled goal after a brilliant run from Sid Adams by Elliot Levy (pictured) gave Peacehaven a share of the points.
On an extremely difficult pitch which did not suit Haven’s pass and move style of play, Peacehaven took the lead through Mikey Lloyd on 27 minutes when he scored from close range after a Gus Burton header fell to him.
Peacehaven started brightly against a spirited and determined Eastbourne Utd. And on eleven minutes United could have taken the lead had it not have been for three consecutive saves by Haven keeper Erikson Aga. The Haven stopper was in action again on 23 minutes when he dived to push a good effort wide for a corner.
The visitors went in at half time 1-0 ahead, but United had shown enough for the visitors to know they were in a game.
For 20 minutes in the second half, much to manager Mark Shutt’s annoyance, Peacehaven switched off and it was during this period that Zack Kiernan (55 minutes) and Max Howell (74 minutes) put the home side ahead.
With Peacehaven chasing the game and looking to salvage something from it, Sid Adams came on for Felipe Lira and it was from Adams’ good run and cross that Levy got the equaliser.
This was not a vintage Haven performance but the stand out players were Riley Grant who played his normal reliable and steady game, new signing Zac Haulkham whose range of passes and positive play marked him out and Gus Burton whose honest endeavour and commitment is a trademark attribute.
Peacehaven now move up sixth place in the league.
Peacehaven don’t have a game this weekend and they are next in action on January 20 when AFC Uckfield visit the Unibet Arena.
Peacehaven & Telscombe: Aga, Cowd, Lira, Haulkham, Massen, Sidwell, Legrange, Grant, Burton, Lloyd, Levy. Subs: Wiltshire (Cal), Ford (M), Adams, Helson, Avens.
