By Pitchside View

BILL PARRIS, a stalwart of Peacehaven & Telcombe FC and the Sussex FA passed away on Sunday January 7.

Mr Parris had been associated with Peacehaven & Telscombe FC for more than 50 years, first as a player, then committee member, treasurer and in recent years, a life time president. He was 94. He leaves his wife Phylis, son Mike and daughter Dawn.

In 1993 he was appointed a life-time vice president of the Sussex FA in recognition of his hard work and dedication to grass roots football.

Peacehaven & Telscombe chair Sue Norwood said: “I was so sad to hear of Bill’s passing. On behalf of the club I would like to offer our sincere sympathy to the family at this difficult time.” “He was a great figure at our club, an ambassador and truly loved his football.”

Arrangements for his funeral will be announced in due course.
