[/b]When the new Community Club was launched in 2016 which incorporated and brought together the youth and senior sections of the football club, a board of directors was put in place to oversee the transition.
At last year’s AGM, all of the interim board were re-elected.
As part of the club’s constitution as registered with the Financial Conduct Authority on May 3 2016 and in line with the Co-operative and Community Benefits Societies Act 2014, two years after registering as a Community Club, one third of the club’s directors must offer to stand down at the club’s AGM. This then gives opportunities to any club member to put themselves forward as a candidate and possible subsequent board member.
Under the rules, the minimum number of directors the club must have is six and the maximum 12. Currently Peacehaven & Telscombe Community FC has ten directors who are:
Sue Norwood: acting chair, Steve Davies: treasurer, Mark Shutt: director of football, Sue Knevitt: meeting and youth secretary, Dan Palmer: senior club secretary, Mike Bradbury: acting youth chair and commercial director, Phil Merry: communications director, Sean Plummer: kit and equipment procurement, Clive Blunt: under 21 manager, Jez Avens: director without portfolio.
Those directors standing down at the AGM, but who will make themselves available for re-election are: Sue Norwood and Steve Davies. During the past year, Phil Woodgate has resigned from the board and Ben Cove due to overseas work commitments, has not attended the required number of meetings in order to continue as a board member.
If you would like to be considered for one of the four board places available at Peacehaven & Telscombe Community Football Club, please complete the application form by clicking on the link below. If there are more applications than places available a secret ballot, which only members can participate in, will take place at the AGM on July 3 2018.
Closing date for applications: 5pm June 26, 2018.
