Peacehaven happy to get 3pts from the Police
By Club Update
With the Met Police arriving Peacehaven had a most wanted poster up for some goals and fortunately they found them
In the early part of the first half the Met had the best start pushing Peacehaven back and dominating the first 15 minutes. As in recent games though the defence and Di Bernado held them at bay and restricted any goal attempts to more difficult angles.
The latter part of the second half allowed Peacehaven to come more into the game and begin to push forward. Peacehaven's confidence seemed to have returned and with some nice passing football beginning to find its way through to Brotherton and Archibald at the front.
The second half and Peacehaven began to find more space to allow several runs through the Met Police defence with last chance defending stopping Archibald on two or three occasions. Eventually though Peacehaven cracked it after 65 mins. A ball played out wide to the returning James Fraser allowed him to drive into the box and drill a shot low across the keeper for 1-0 to the delight of the fans.
Peacehaven continued to put on the pressure in between Met forays but from a similar position this time Josh Jones emulated Fraser after a further 10 minutes. With the score at 2-0 the Met were pushing higher in search of a goal but with the team desperate to keep a clean sheet some good tackling and blocking restricted the Met.
They had one excellent chance a ball well struck inside the box was met with a fantastic save from Di Bernado low to his right who was also able to push the ball away from goal which both sets of fans appreciated.
So with 8pts from 8 games the Magpies are nestling nicely into the table and with a further 3 homes for the next three Saturdays come down and a trip to Hendon on Monday in the middle Peacehaven can hopefully keep up the momentum..
